For Lebanon

In honor of those killed in the Beirut explosion on August 4th, I’ve written their names on tulle. To me, writing out the names of those killed unjustly is a way of reclaiming the dead from that very injustice and delivering to them, in its place, a sort of immortality and honor, as if to return to them the presence they were robbed of and all the days they could have walked through and which were rightfully theirs.
